Super-Easy, Super-Delicious Lasagna Casserole

  • 12 oz . wide egg noodles , cooked according to package directions
  • 1 jar marinara sauce , I like Prego
  • 1 (15 oz.) can black olives, sliced
  • 1 (15 oz.) can mushrooms, optional ( I never add these, but my mom always did)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder , divided
  • 1/2 tsp salt , divided
  • 1/2 tsp fresh black pepper , divided
  • Fresh parsley , finely chopped for topping


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Spray a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and spread a small layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of the dish.
  3. Layer half of the egg noodles on the bottom of the baking dish. Spread about 3/4 cup of sauce over noodles (doesn't have to be perfect). Sprinkle 1/2 tsp garlic powder over the sauce and 1/4 tsp each of salt and pepper. Top with one cup of cheddar cheese and then one cup of mozzarella cheese on top of the cheddar. Top with half of the olives. Repeat that layer again using up the remainder of the ingredients.
  4. Place baking dish in oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until cheese has melted and is heated through. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Recipe Notes

I have also made this many times in a deep casserole dish, which can result in 3 layers verses 2 layers. Just adjust seasoning and ingredients to fill the casserole dish.
