Preparing the Christmas Table

Hard to believe Christmas is only a few days away now – though might as well be an eternity in our young boys’ minds.

We’ll ready while we wait.  Most all our family will be involved with the preparations for the Christmas brunch taking place in our home this Sunday.

And then the next one on Monday.

Then our own family one on Tuesday.

Whew. That’s a lot of celebrating. A three-day feast, really.

So you can imagine our days will be somewhat full with decorating, menu-making, baking, fixing, and table-setting. What a blessing to have the help and talents of older daughters! They make preparations nearly as much fun as the party.

Since this year we’re getting many of our ideas from Pinterest, I thought I’d share some of our favorite ones with you too. (If you’re on Pinterest, you might want to peek at my boards Unto Us A Child, The Christmas Table, and Winter Wonders for more? If you’re not, then I’ve included the direct links for the ones below.)

For instance, look at this inspiring idea for Christ-celebrating ornaments or table decorations from My House of Boys:

There’s this charming napkin idea (and more) from Nancy Creative:

Then for some ideas on what to put ON the table, here are Six Amazing Overnight Breakfast Recipes, like this Eggnog French Toast, from Chef In Training:

These are a few of the elements I’d like to include in our Christmas celebration this year…and I’d love to hear about yours as well.  What kinds of wonderful things do you make or do for Christmas?

I pray that you are richly blessed while preparing to celebrate Christ’s birth with those you love. And that your heart is filled with His love and pours down over all those who gather around your table. A mother’s gift to family and friends.

Yes, bless you, dear wife and mama, as you lovingly bless so many others with all that you offer.

In His grace,

  2. Almost makes me wish we celebrated Christmas :-)

These are beautiful ideas! Creating a beautiful festive home just enhances the special family traditions and excitement that goes around celebrating (anything) together.

God bless you as you so beautifully nurture and care for your family, Lisa.
