Welcome home, Cohen!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Welcome home, Cohen!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
We so enjoyed celebrating the wedding of dear, lon We so enjoyed celebrating the wedding of dear, longtime family friends! ❤️❤️

The boys have played Legos, camped, and fought in combat (Airsoft wars 😉) together since they were little boys. Now here they are standing in as groomsmen for their childhood friend’s wedding. Congratulations Nathaniel and Joy!! 🎉🎉

*Small world note: Joy’s grandfather also happened to be the officiant at our own wedding 30 years ago! 😮

Thank you everyone for your prayers for Avonléa. Thank you everyone for your prayers for Avonléa. ❤️ She only has 24 hours to go on this test!

She did have a seizure yesterday which were able to capture, so as rough as that is, it’s what we were hoping for. 🙌🏼

If you’d continue to pray, we still have one other type of seizure that we’d like to record as well (it’s more elusive) but showing up increasingly, Also, for grace and endurance for her in this testing process.

And yet Avonléa is aware that others, like her friend Cohen, are facing even greater trials.

Yesterday she told us, “This is hard, but I know that Cohen is having a harder time than me so we need to be praying for him. “ 😭 ❤️

Grateful for all our praying friends!!

Only Avonléa could make you laugh while prepping Only Avonléa could make you laugh while prepping for an EEG. She was such a good sport! 😂

She was convinced that her siblings would be “jealous” that she gets to have all these pretty colored wires woven into her hair. And she chatted nonstop to the technician, until I put on her favorite playlist. Then she belted out “Let it go” to everyone’s entertainment. ⛄️

We went to “celebrate” afterward with avocado toast and lattes (the latter for the parents 😉).

Then on a more serious note, this is a 3-day EEG and we’re hoping to find out more why she’s having increasingly severe seizures (even with the medication).

Also, that she would have endurance as it’s not easy to be plugged in and monitored for so long. 🙏🏼

Thank you praying friends!! 💜💜

I remember that moment well. 🥰 And the song th I remember that moment well. 🥰

And the song that was playing too: You’re Still the One. (Thank you, Shania 😉)

Thirty years of marriage wrapped up and celebrated in one dance. There are not too many moments like that in life.

But, of course, that dance isn’t a single moment at all but one built on a stack of moments. Daily opportunities to say, “I love you.”
Rather than, “I love me.” ❤️

BOTH of you.

For example, I recently glanced at a typed-up page of my husband’s goals for this year. And I couldn’t help but be curious when I saw the “Marriage” category, so I peeked. 🤫

On it, I saw items such as “Greet my wife with a loving hug/kiss every morning” and “Pay her a sincere compliment every day.” And I thought about what small things those are but how much they mean to me.

And how much they add up over time.

But the other thing that struck me? How valuable it is to be intentional in your relationship, choosing love in your words and actions. Daily building, whether it’s three years in . . . or thirty.

Because the next thing you know, you’re dancing at your daughter’s wedding.

And he’s still the one. 🤗

This is the view from our front room. ❄️ ❄️

Waking up to snow. Again.
And it feels like the longest winter I can remember.

And I’m not only talking about the weather either.

We’ve been through a long, cold season over here and maybe you have too. And it seems like people around you are basking in warm sunshine while you continue to wake up to yet another storm.

I hear you.💗

So if this is you (or maybe for a dear friend), then I’ll share some of those things that have helped me get through such a heavy season.

· Set aside a quiet moment every day to read your Bible. Doesn’t have to be lengthy or profound. And don’t consult your feelings on the matter. (Feelings aren’t always your friend, despite being the current popular trend.) Just do it. 📖

· Confide in a friend. Even if they don’t live nearby. Call them, text them, ask them to pray for you.🙏🏼

· Look for beauty and goodness in the small things: a new puppy, a kind smile, or a break in the clouds. I call it the Grateful Game, except it’s not a game. It’s real and surprisingly impactful over time. 🙌🏼

And lastly, cry out to God, knowing He sees you and hears your cries. ❤️

Watching with you for that break in the skies,
Lisa

👉🏼 Share what has helped you through a tough season? Or something that someone has done/could do to encourage you?

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them. ~ Psalm 145:18-19
