20 Books for Christian Moms on Mother’s Day
While having only one day to celebrate the mom in your life (or yourself!) is not enough, we love the chance to gather a few of our favorite books for Christian moms into one list.
If you’re a mom, we hope you set aside some time to relax this Mother’s Day—reading, sleeping, sitting on the porch, or whatever is most refreshing for you!
Our favorite of these options is to read and spend some time in the Word, so we picked plenty of devotionals, books on prayer, and books for growing your faith for this list!
Of course, we love letting our minds escape from everyday life for a while with a clean Christian fiction book as well, so we couldn’t leave our recent favorites off the list!
Devotionals for Moms
From encouragement for your marriage (from our very own Lisa Jacobson!) to readings focused on strength, peace, encouragement, and understanding God, we know you’ll find a devotional below to draw you close to the Lord.
We especially love Prevail by Susie Larson for how it teaches us about Scripture and God’s heart for us. Susie includes questions to get you thinking about each passage of Scripture and notes from her Bible as she walks alongside you to strengthen your faith and understanding.
Fiercely Loved: God’s Wild Thoughts about You by Lisa Bevere
Take Heart: 100 Devotions to Seeing God When Life’s Not Okay by (in)courage
Trusting God in All the Things: 90 Devotions for Finding Peace in Your Every Day by Karen Ehman and Ruth Schwenk

Loving Your Husband/Wife Well Bundle: A 52-Week Devotional for the Deeper, Richer Marriage You Desire by Matt and Lisa Jacobson
Books on Prayer
From prayer books that equip you with short, daily prayers for your needs to specific, scriptural prayers for your marriage, we love how books on prayer encourage us to keep up our daily habits of connecting with God.
We especially love Praying the Scriptures for Your Marriage by Jodie Berndt (one of our very own contributing writers!) for how much hard-earned wisdom she shares from her own marriage and how she equips us with prayers for every part of our marriages. If you’ve never developed a habit of praying together with your spouse, this book gives you practical ways to start doing so.
100 Days of Prayer for Women by Carolyn Larsen
Praying the Scriptures for Your Marriage: Trusting God with Your Most Important Relationship by Jodie Berndt
Make Time for Joy: Scripture-Powered Prayers to Brighten Your Day by Linda Evans Shepherd
Books for Her Home
We can’t get enough of how pretty these books are! We love how they look on the coffee table but also how helpful they are when it comes to home decorating and prepping food for your family.
If we had to pick two that we love the most, they would be House Rules by Myquillyn Smith and Everyday Snack Tray by Frances Largeman-Roth, RDN. House Rules has already become our go-to home decorating resource for how it teaches us the rules of home decorating and how you can bend them to fit your unique style and family.
Everyday Snack Tray is perfect for creating snack trays for kids and families using things you might already have in your house. After all, charcuterie isn’t going away anytime soon, but it doesn’t have to mean fussy and fancy! Frances gives advice for how to please the pickiest eaters and how to introduce your kids to new foods in a fun way, whether for a special celebration or an easy weeknight meal.
House Rules: How to Decorate for Every Home, Style, and Budget by Myquillyn Smith
Everyday Snack Tray: Easy Ideas and Recipes for Boards That Nourish for Moments Big and Smallby Frances Largeman-Roth, RDN
Home Made Lovely: Creating the Home You’ve Always Wanted by Shannon Acheson
The Story of Your Home: A Room-by-Room Guide to Designing with Purpose and Personality by Courtney Warren
Books for Her Faith
From a five-volume classic set from the beloved missionary Elisabeth Elliot to beautiful prayers inspired by the Psalms, we know you’ll find an option to support the spiritual growth of the mom in your life.
We especially love the book Dwell Differently by Natalie Abbott and Vera Schmitz because it teaches a unique way to memorize Scripture so you can always carry God’s Word in your heart. It’s much easier to push away negative, intrusive thoughts when you have God’s Word at the front of your mind to keep you grounded.
Elisabeth Elliot Classics Collection: Five Essential Volumes by Elisabeth Elliot
Dwell Differently: Overcome Negative Thinking with the Simple Practice of Memorizing God’s Truthby Natalie Abbott and Vera Schmitz
Endless Grace: Prayers Inspired by the Psalms by Ryan Whitaker Smith and Dan Wilt
Clean Christian Fiction Books for Moms
Last but certainly not least is our list of some recent favorites in the clean Christian fiction space. From a novel about an ice cream shop to a novel about an aspiring writer, you’ll find heartwarming love stories and inspirational tales of families healing.
In particular, we love the book The Roads We Follow by Nicole Deese for a fun, silly, and sweet cross-country summer romance!
The Sweet Life by Suzanne Woods Fisher
The Secret Keepers of Old Depot Grocery by Amanda Cox
A Love Discovered by Tracie Peterson
The Roads We Follow by Nicole Deese
